Moderation

Is too much of anything bad for you?  Most of the time it is, however, that doesn't mean we should cut it cold turkey.  Well, crack maybe?  LOL!!!!!  I'm kidding.

The key word to a healthy lifestyle, or working towards one is moderation.  Think about it for a second.   If you starve yourself craving everything you can't have for most of the day, is that healthy?  Does eating a ground beef hamburger the size of an 8" round skillet three days out of the week sound safe? Is working out seven days a week eating trail mix as a post workout meal good?

Everything mentioned above is absolutely goofy, but real in a lot of ways!  I'll keep it short and simple.  Diet is a word taken too far in todays society so lets just not use it for now.

Our bodies need fat (energy), our bodies need sugar (energy), our bodies need protein (fuel for muscles).  On the other hand, some things we choose to eat have TOOOOOOO much fat in them to be eaten regularly!  What do we do about that?   Eat that greasy fried chicken with a slice of pizza, just not so much, hence forth the term moderation

Our bodies need exercise ( burn the excess calories).  Keep in mind, working out without taking any days to let your body rest and recoup is a disaster waiting to happen.   I'm sure you all get gist of what I'm saying, just think moderation when indulging into those things we enjoy.

Happy Feelins

Ok, I just finished watching the WE ARE ONE: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at Lincoln Memorial.  First, let me say it was beautiful ceremony, and to see our new President with his family moving to the music "on beat" truly touched me.  The simple things.

But seriously, as I watched each artist come out and share their gifts with the millions viewing, I kept a wondering thought in the back of my head.  Will Maze feat. Frankie Beverly get to come out and perform their song "We Are One" released in 1983?

Maze & Frankie were always huge on promoting love and togetherness in their music.  Shouldn't they get some props in 2009?  Crazy as this may sound, they're still doing shows today!

Anyway, just had a thought to share.

Flame dammit!

If any of you heard about this new Burger King fragrance you had to have the same thought as me.  "This is a joke! Right? LOL!!!!!!!!

Well, I have news for you, their not joking.  The Burger King Corporation has launched a new men's body spray called "Flame."

The fragrance is described as "an enticing scent with a hint of flame-broiled meat."   WTF!?  I'm actually laughing as I write this in disbelief.  Now really, if you know a female that wants a man that smells like "flame broiled beef," its not the man she wants.  Homegirl is hungry!  Maybe she has 4 legs?

On the other hand, maybe this is a new-era of creative marketing & advertisement?  If you happen to be walking through the mall and someone breezes by you smelling like hot meat, where you headed?  Burger King Baby!!!  LOL!!!

Myron Rolle

When do you know your true calling?  Myron Rolle is a student athlete at Florida State University whom is truly the epitome of the passage "The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost."

Rolle is a starting defensive back for FSU's football team which that in itself is huge.  He WOULD go no more than the top 50 this year in the NFL draft, and most likely after the combine his stats would move him even higher.  However, a few million dollars is not Rolle's priority at the moment.  Myron Rolle will not enter the NFL DRAFT this year, but attend Oxford, England to study medical anthropology for a 1 year program.

Awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, Rolle will be back to the NFL in 2010, but thanks not all folks!  After his pro-career in the football, he'll head back to school to become a neurosurgeon.  So how will this man "give back," as they say?  Rolle will go back to his home in the Bahamas and open a free health services clinic!!

Rolle graduated from FSU after only 2.5 years, majoring in Exercise Sciences with a concentration in Pre-Med, and is currently completing a Master of Public Administration degree.  The funny thing about this is I've only mentioned a few of his accomplishments!!! OMG!!

Hell!!!!  I'm exhausted just thinking about the road this man is traveling!!!  However, I will say I am truly inspired by this man's actions.

The Rhodes Scholarships, the oldest international fellowships, were initiated after the death of Cecil Rhodes in 1902, and bring outstanding students from many countries around the world to the University of Oxford. The first American Scholars entered Oxford in 1904.

What Makes a Man A Man?

Too much of it will literally kill you!  Get caught walking around with the synthetic kind and it will get you locked up, for real! Women take it to look like men. However, having the right amount in your body will make you feel like a super hero, bedroom or gym.  Amazing, but worth all the trouble?

Ladies & Gentlemen, my friend, and yours,
TESTOSTERONE!!!

So as Joe Friday from Dragnet would say, "Just the facts mam..."  I'm gonna give you some strong advantages to having elevated amounts of our most famous hormone in your body.

Healthy Reasons
Higher levels of energy
More endurance for exercise
Better Mood

Sex Reasons
Stronger erections
Increased sex drive & sexual endurance

Exercise
Bigger muscles
More muscle strength
reduced fat tissue

Do men have to run to the doctor to get shots of this stuff?  Well, if there is a problem with your natural production, the answer maybe yes.  However, if your getting into your 30s, your energy is changing, and your activity level is on a landslide, there is an easier way to get those hormones up and moving.

Regular Exercise, food with good energy sources (less fats), good multi-vitamins & minerals, and rest will make a man feel like a man, a natural man!

Word for the day

Does the word Grafenberg ring a bell?  Maybe most of you know the term as the "G-spot."  The Grafenberg spot is a small are in women behind the pubic bone surrounding the urethra and accessible through the anterior wall of the vagina.

The Grafenberg Spot is located along the upper/front wall of the vagina, about two inches in, up towards the stomach.

So some of you may be thinking, how important is this information to a man?  Here's the answer to this question, ask a woman.

Guys, I cannot stress this enough, "STUDY YOUR WOMAN."  You'll thank me later, and so will she... LOL

Beautifully Strong,
Dominic

Where's Your Head?

Its 2009 so first and foremost, Happy New everybody!  We all thinking positive and starting the newest year off with the cleanest slate we possibly can, right?  LOL! "Ain't nothin' to it, but to do it," is what I've always heard.  With that being said I don't know about you ,but I'm gonna start mine a little something like this...

I read this my junior year in college, and haven't forgotten it since.  See if this passage jogs any of your memories.

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Robert Frost (1874–1963).  Mountain Interval.  1920

Now, Robert is cool and all, but I'm not going to go rural on ya'll!!!  LOL!!  Let's just say I gotta step up my game a little bit, and what better time to do that than the beginning of 2009...

LETS GOOOOOOO,
Dominic
